100. DIVINE SPIRITUAL FORCE
(The Lord) – “Now let us also take into consideration the magnitude of a purely spiritual force as compared to the magnitude of the greatest physical force. What will be the result? Behold, there are in infinite cosmic space gigantic solar worlds, compared to whose size this whole great earth would be like a tiny grain of sand in relation to the whole earth. Look, a wind blowing across the earth's sand steppes already lifts such sand up and with great ease carries it away, and a gale does it all the more easily in great masses. Now imagine a comparatively strong wind on that immense solar world. Quite obviously it would have easy play with earths such as this. 'Well,' you would say in your worldly wisdom, `if such mighty winds are blowing there, surely one should feel something of them down here on earth.' And I tell you that this happens quite often, and from even much further away!
You will have seen the flying stars. Some of them are often so big that they could be called a small earth. This is sometimes cosmic dust blown out into the vast space of ether from the solar worlds through subterranean gales. This cosmic dust falls back to where it had come from on account of the great attractive force of such a solar world, unless it came too close to another cosmic globe which would then attract it. But this does not happen often.
There you see the immense exponentiation of the material, so-called natural forces at work in endless space. Yet even if you exponentiate these and other natural forces known to you incessantly for a thousand and a million years, the ultimate potency of force found by you will, compared with the divine omnipotence, always be like a mere naught as compared with something real, or like a falsehood as compared with the truth.
To get a most proper view of the whole, we first need to note that it is only the spiritual which is the innermost and simultaneously the all-penetratingly and all-determining.
Take for instance a fruit. What is the innermost thereof? Nothing but the spiritual power in the germ. What then is the fruit, being there with all its ingredients for the protection and preservation of the internal germ? Its being is none other than the external organ, penetrated by the power of the germ which, in all its parts, works profusely on the present germ.
That the external fruit is an organ which is determined through the spiritual power of the germ, shows in that not only the fruit but also the whole tree or plant, emerges from the germ.
What is then the spiritual? The spiritual is firstly the inner power in the germ from which comes forth the existence of the whole tree with roots, stem, branches, twigs, leaves, blossoms and fruit. Yet, it is the spiritual which penetrates all these named parts of the tree as if for itself or its own well-being.
The spiritual is, therefore, the innermost, most penetrating and most all-embracing, the most permeating and the all-encompassing.
[…] He also needs to ponder that the spiritual is something completely concrete, something able to completely take hold of each other mutually, while the natural is separated into individual parts and form in and out of itself, no fixed unit. Where it does feature as a whole, it is only because of the inner spiritual
(The Lord’s Sermons, chap. 1)
09] Your heart radiates indeed a pure, highly inflamed love for God; but from such love you can gain only a little or nothing at all other than perhaps that you can see a little better in its broken light of the night than otherwise in utter darkness. But that is already all you can gain.
10] However, only life is the main concern, which is to last forever but not the light of the temporal life which fades with the same.
11] Therefore the heart of the spirit or your love for God, must be closest to you, which means, it must be within you. You must search for God inside you, recognize and then love Him above all, and you will have eternal life; for behold, God alone is indeed life and thus has it and thus gives life!
12] But if such is an eternal truth, then tell Me to what use can an endlessly distant God or an endlessly distant life be to you!
13] You must have the eternal life, which there is the eternal love of God, only in you if you want to live but not behind all the stars!
14] In addition it is important to note, however, that the infinite God is of no use to you because you as a finite being, can not ever grasp the actual infinite being of God.
15] And that is why God has created the human heart as a dwelling place for Himself, so that no one should live apart from or without God.
EVOLUTION OF SOUL-LIFE ON EARTH UNTIL MAN. LOWER AND HIGHER ANIMAL LIFE
I said to the innkeeper: “My dear Mucius, exactly in those 3 questions that you ask are contained the whole wisdom of all the Heavens and the reasons of My work as teacher on this Earth. No matter how many times I talked about this, the basic teaching cannot be frequently repeated enough so that the spiritual heart of man will completely absorb those eternal truths in himself, will well digest them in himself and in flesh and blood will entirely transform them. Therefore, I will profoundly answer your questions, firstly for the sake of you and Phoikas since you are still foreign to My teaching, and secondly for the sake of My followers
who are already with Me for a long time but who still did not penetrate into all truth. So listen carefully.
Man lives from 2 kinds of worlds which he has to unite in himself. On the one hand he is the cornerstone of the outer,
material creation in which he is called the crown of creation and he is praised as such. On the other hand he is the starting point of the pure spiritual world which with him has reached the first stage of complete free self-awareness. So, on the one hand he is the beginning and on the other hand the end of a chain, and he has to find in himself, by his for that purpose given life and the free development, the right link with which he can make those 2 chains as one. I will explain this further to you.
All beings, from the smallest creature, form step to step ascending series, in such manner that one step will always complete the other, will show greater perfections and can by that also develop an ever greater intelligence.
Look at the animals where lower sorts exist that seem to have no other goal than to maintain their body and serve as food for other animals. When there is an enemy of their body and life, they stoically surrender to their fate and do not fight back and are also not capable to do that. Look at the many insects and lower amphibians.
2. "Listen, dear brothers, the most holy, most loving Father Abedam Jehovah Emmanuel Abba has spoken to you, having had to listen to your lengthy childlike praise:
3. "'Probe your hearts; and tell Me faithfully what you will find there!' This was the meaning of the most holy speech.
4. "But the most holy Father also foresaw that you will not grasp this meaning. Therefore, He instructed Me secretly in my heart to guide you into your hearts and thus also into the hidden meaning of these His last words which He spoke to you all in the end.
5. „This must surely surprise you a little; but you all will soon realize that it is not too easy to turn one's eyes into one's own heart without much ado and then probe the same completely.
6. "For behold, until now the intellect of your brain was predominantly the light of your soul with you all. But the forever living spirit, which dwells in the heart of the soul and is the alone true, innermost, living light of life, has never been awakened in you.
7. "But if this has not been awakened it is futile to look into the heart; for, where there is no light, what might be seen there? Or can anyone see even a span ahead in a pitch-dark night?
THESE three words denote things of which people hold very erroneous concepts. The first two in particular give much trouble to the materialists because they believe to have found in them the whole universe, the reason for its coming into being, its existence and passing away, with which explanation God, or a Spiritual Being ruling everything, has been completely negated. Since it is precisely the materialists, or the present “very learned professors” of geography, animal science and mineralogy, who cast around with these words, establish them as the first principle and believe thereby to have said all in all, we must still, if we want to tell these clever professors something which clearly proves their ignorance, begin with the concepts these words represent. For first of all one has to know what one needs as tool before one set to work, whereupon only the right use of one or the other tool proves the dexterity of the master.
So, what really is or is called “energy”?
Look, you men of learning who fancy to be so wise, who, after all the exploring and investigating, arrive at the very spot from which you began, who want to determine energy as a factor in the whole visible and invisible world; look, I have to tell you that energy, this highly-praised word on the title-pages of your books, is not something that
exists independently or alone, but denotes only the product of another, invisible factor, which you do not wish to admit exists, by straight away declaring: “Energy is a natural law which is equal to movement or life.”
But now we ask these scientists: If your whole world consists only of substance and the expression of energy, who gives the impulse to this energy so that it can, and must, express itself thus and not otherwise, always influencing through the application of its force the second article of faith of your science, namely, substance?
